A well-established St. Louis based personal injury law firm is presenting a unique opportunity for the right candidate.
We are seeking a skilled and strategic Pre-Litigation Attorney to join our firm. This role focuses on managing cases during the critical phase before formal litigation begins. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a keen eye for investigation, and the ability to resolve disputes efficiently while protecting client interests.
Key Responsibilities
-Conduct thorough investigations by gathering facts, documents, and relevant evidence to evaluate legal claims.
-Draft and issue demand letters articulating client grievances and desired resolutions.
-Engage in direct negotiations with opposing parties, insurance companies, or counsel to seek early resolution.
-Coordinate and participate in mediation or informal settlement discussions where appropriate.
-Issue and respond to litigation hold notices to ensure preservation of key evidence.
-Maintain detailed case files and communication logs to document pre-litigation efforts.
-Work collaboratively with litigation attorneys to ensure smooth transition of unresolved matters to formal litigation.
-Advise clients on legal rights, risks, and potential outcomes to help guide pre-litigation strategy.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Licensed and in good standing with the Missouri bar.
Preferred 2+ years of experience in civil litigation, personal injury, insurance defense, or a related area, with pre-litigation experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and case management skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
